About Us

An art gallery displaying various framed artworks on the walls. — The Exchange
An art gallery displaying various framed artworks on the walls.

The Exchange brings people together through art, music, and shared creative energy at 24 E Main St in Bloomsburg, PA. As a nonprofit organization, it serves as a place where local voices can be seen, heard, and celebrated, from gallery exhibitions to community-centered events that give the region a stronger cultural pulse.

Visitors come for the changing exhibitions, then stay for the feeling of connection that fills the space. The organization supports local artists, presents live music in its Listening Room, and creates room for storytelling, learning, and discovery. It is the kind of place that makes downtown Bloomsburg feel more alive, more welcoming, and more closely tied to the artists and audiences who shape northeastern and central Pennsylvania.

Its reach extends beyond one address. Through programs like Art Cart, ArtFest, and the Art of PA resource, The Exchange helps carry creativity into Bloomsburg, Berwick, Danville, and surrounding communities. That mix of gallery culture, performance, and outreach gives it a distinct role, one rooted in access, participation, and genuine support for the arts.

What We Offer

At The Exchange, the experience starts with art. Gallery exhibitions and themed shows invite visitors to explore new work, discover regional talent, and see creativity presented in a setting designed for conversation and reflection. Each exhibit adds a fresh reason to stop in and see what is on display.

The organization also brings people together through the Listening Room live music concerts, Coffeehouse Series, and storytelling events. With Blues, Roots, and Americana performances, the programming offers an easy way to enjoy live culture in a space that feels personal and community driven.

Beyond the walls of the gallery, Art Cart and ArtFest expand the mission into neighborhoods and public life, while the Art of PA resource and gallery space rental add practical value for artists, organizers, and community groups. It is a creative hub built for sharing ideas, hosting events, and keeping local arts active across the region.

"I have enjoyed stopping here to view the art displayed. The people are really welcoming and support local artists. I have submitted some of my photographs for the first time, so I am excited about this opportunity. We are lucky to have a place like this in a small town. I hope to submit more photographs for future shows."

"Wonderful gem for community. Inspiring locals and providing a place for visitors to experience the soul of the region. Places like these are all too rare, and important to quality of life and celebration of the human spirit and cultivating a dialogue about our interpretations of our world. It was a treasure to find on a trip through the region, and reminded me of a similar space in Rochester. The guy there was clearly very good people, and could restore faith in people and communities and a life with art and kindness. The art we saw was thought invoking, and the visit was priceless. I want a place like this in my area. Wish they were as numerous as Wawas. This place is America."
